Job summary

The Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) seeks a Financial Institutions Manager for the Office of Credit Unions in Lansing, Michigan. The role focuses on supervising credit union activity and risk assessment to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan's financial services industries.

Ideal candidates will lead a team, exhibit strong analytical and communication skills, and be comfortable with travel for local and national engagements.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional experience supervising credit unions or state-regulated financial institutions.
• Bachelor's degree in business with core curriculum in finance, law and management; plus related coursework.
• Strong data analysis skills and experience with PowerBI and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Supervise credit union safety and soundness examinations and regulatory compliance.
• Lead research and risk assessment activities for state-chartered credit unions and credit union service organizations.
• Interpret and communicate regulatory findings to leadership and stakeholders.
• Represent the Office of Credit Unions with industry and regulatory bodies, including travel as needed.
