Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a business major including a core curriculum: finance, law, and management; one course in marketing or economics; 6 semester/9 term credits in accounting.
• Two years of professional experience in financial institutions or insurance industry contexts valued for advancement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze statutes and convert into consumer-friendly formats.
• Willingness to travel for examinations, training opportunities, and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and examine the financial condition of state-chartered depository and state-licensed financial institutions and insurance companies in Michigan.
• Meet with management, boards of directors, and industry professionals to provide guidance and evaluate compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Assist in maintaining safe, sound, and reliable financial services for consumers; contribute to risk management and compliance efforts.
