Description

Sunflower Bank is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual for the full-time position of Credit Underwriter III. The role involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial and credit information to assess the creditworthiness of our customers, focusing on complex credit relationships. The incumbent will support Commercial Bankers in managing new and existing loan relationships, emphasizing credit quality and risk minimization.

Salary Range: $150,000 to $180,000, depending on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.

Responsibilities

1. Review and analyze financial and credit data such as financial statements, tax returns, and credit reports to determine creditworthiness. Identify the need for further investigation or additional information and contact relevant sources.
2. Prepare detailed financial and analytical reports, including historical data, cash flow analysis, and projections.
3. Research industry and market information relevant to customers’ lines of business.
4. Draft summaries of analysis for new and existing loan relationships, focusing on cash flow, collateral, and repayment sources. Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each credit relationship.

Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; or a minimum of 10+ years in the discipline with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of experience in credit analysis or portfolio management within a commercial lending environment.
• Proficiency in underwriting commercial real estate, industrial, and SBA lending.
