The Work

  1. Prepare Independent Cost Estimates (ICE) during planning, design, and construction phases.
  2. Review and finalize Engineer’s estimates, considering project constraints.
  3. Develop detailed cost estimates from plans or drawings, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  4. Generate Constructability Reports to identify design deficiencies.
  5. Reconcile ICEs with third-party estimates through collaborative discussions.
  6. Analyze bids to align with internal cost projections.
  7. Identify production cost influencers and field equipment needs.
  8. Present estimates to stakeholders and lead negotiations.
  9. Prepare material take-offs and cost breakdowns.
  10. Maintain historical cost data for future estimates.
  11. Review contracts and modifications for scope changes.
  12. Lead and support change order negotiations.
  13. Ensure contractual compliance and fair pricing.
  14. Work onsite at client locations to enable delivery and strengthen relationships.

Salary range: $160,727 - $176,800 annually, with variability based on location, role, experience, and other factors.

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years estimating experience in engineering and construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Certified estimating professional credential.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Knowledge of Prolog and project management systems.
  • Experience managing a team of estimators.
  • Experience with complex estimate reconciliations and negotiations.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and industry practices.
  • Strong communication skills and a results-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to interact effectively across departments.
  • Experience working with external agencies like FAA, LADBS, LADWP, etc.
