Job summary

Transcendia, Inc. is seeking an orderly, detail-focused clerk to support the Credit department. The role handles credit card and check payments, credit applications, and reference processing, while maintaining files and tracking payments.

The candidate will perform light collections, run credit reports, and back up the A/R Cash Application Specialist as needed, ensuring accurate, timely updates to customer records.

Job Summary

This role supports the Credit department by performing administrative tasks, small-dollar collections, and credit card processing.

Job Duties

• Processes credit card and “check by fax” payments


• Obtains credit applications and processes customer trade references


• Runs and prints D&B and Credit Safe credit reports


• Scans credit applications and maintains orderly credit files


• Maintains customer “Short Pay Tracker” worksheet in Excel


• Sends statements to customers upon request


• Updates customer contact information in accounting software system


• Processes adjustments for small-dollar customer misc. deductions


• Performs light collections (small balance customers)


• Processes Bad Debt write-offs quarterly


• Serves as primary backup to A/R Cash Application Specialist (posting payments to customer accounts)


• Maintains organized A/R record retention files according to Company guidelines


• Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
