Job summary

Citizens is seeking a Consumer and Business Banking Credit Execution Director to steer acquisition credit strategies across Consumer and Small Business portfolios. You will translate risk appetite into executable policies, drive governance, and partner across product, finance, technology, and compliance to ensure sound, scalable execution.

The role requires 7+ years in credit risk strategy with strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to influence senior leaders and deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business/finance/economics or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in consumer and/or small business lending, credit risk strategy, or related discipline.
• Experience translating strategic intent into executable policies, requirements, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of credit decisioning, portfolio performance, and governance environment.
• Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional partners through complex priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of credit strategies across Consumer and Small Business portfolios.
• Translate risk appetite and business priorities into clear credit policies, decision requirements, and roadmaps.
• Provide leadership across acquisition credit strategy, policy, and execution activities.
• Support prioritization and coordination across capabilities implementing credit strategies.
• Ensure connectivity from strategy design through requirements, testing, implementation, and monitoring.
• Establish governance, controls, and performance measures for credit strategy execution.
• Evaluate portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities to recommend adjustments to strategies.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align credit strategy with product plans, finance, tech, and regulatory expectations.
• Strengthen execution capabilities through improved processes, analytics, and change management.
• Provide updates to senior leadership on strategy performance and risks.
