Job summary

Figure is seeking a Credit Risk Manager to join our growing team. You will drive analytics to uncover data insights and transform them into actionable lending decisions, with a focus on home equity lines of credit in a fintech startup environment.

You will collaborate across Product, Engineering, Capital Markets, Compliance, and Operations to define credit strategy, advise on execution, and monitor portfolio performance, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and maintaining

Qualifications

• Experience in credit risk management and underwriting.
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision making.
• Experience with loan portfolios and regulatory understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to constantly innovate, iterate and improve credit underwriting in lending products
• Use analytical techniques to develop insights from historical loan performance data.
• Identify opportunities to underwrite new customer populations and improve credit solutions.
• Develop valuation models to estimate unit economics of customer segments.
• Advise the Capital Markets team on performance assumptions and yield.
• Collaborate with Marketing to assess credit policy impact on acquisition funnel.
• Conduct loss forecast analyses on various parts of the loan portfolio.
• Model sizing for credit expansion to guide prioritization and growth.
• Present underwriting approaches to investors and address concerns.
• Share loss insights with Fraud risk management to focus on defaults.
• Design monitoring frameworks for product launches and portfolios; advise on trends and risks.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance for regulatory adherence.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support ongoing risk assessments.
