Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Credit Risk Analyst to join the Counterparty and Credit Risk team within Financial & Operational Risk. You will own credit analysis for institutional counterparties and recommend risk-based limits.

This remote-first, hybrid role supports underwriting across hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, and venture capital firms, with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on credit risk management experience.
• Experience underwriting institutional counterparties such as hedge funds or asset managers.
• Knowledge of capital markets products and standard docs (PBAs, MLAs).
• Ability to produce clear credit memos and present risk to senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency in quantitative analyses using spreadsheets, SQL, or similar tools.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own diligence and underwriting of institutional counterparties such as hedge funds, asset managers, PE, and VC.
• Recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based limits with written analyses.
• Monitor portfolio exposures and communicate concentration trends to leadership.
• Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks to inform limit setting.
• Negotiate industry documentation (PBAs, MLAs, ACAs) with cross-functional teams to resolve client challenges.
