Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Credit Risk Analyst to join the Counterparty and Credit Risk team within Financial & Operational Risk. You will own credit analysis for complex counterparties and help scale institutional lending solutions in a fast-evolving digital asset market.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years hands-on credit risk management experience
• Experience underwriting institutional counterparties (hedge funds, asset managers, PE, VC)
• Knowledge of capital markets products and standard docs (PBAs, MLAs, prime brokerage)
• Ability to produce clear written credit memos and present to senior stakeholders
• Experience building quantitative credit models and exposure analyses using SQL or spreadsheets
• Awareness of responsible use of generative AI with human oversight

Responsibilities

• Own diligence and underwriting of institutional counterparties including hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, and venture capital firms.
• Recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based limits with written analyses for senior leadership.
• Monitor portfolio exposures and communicate concentration trends and risks to leadership.
• Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks to inform limit setting and capital planning.
• Negotiate industry documentation (PBAs, MLAs, ACAs) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve client or product challenges.
