Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join the Counterparty and Credit Risk team within Financial & Operational Risk. You will own credit analyses for complex counterparties and help set risk-based limits for senior leadership review.

Based in the United States or United Kingdom, you will monitor portfolio exposures and collaborate with business development, operations, legal, and product teams to resolve challenges. 1-3 years of experience in credit risk is expected.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of hands-on credit risk management experience in financial services or digital assets.
• Experience underwriting institutional clients like hedge funds, asset managers, PE, or VC.
• Working knowledge of capital markets products and standard docs (PBAs, MLAs, PBAs).
• Clear written credit memos and risk recommendations for senior leaders.
• Proficiency in quantitative analyses using spreadsheets, SQL, or similar tools.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own diligence and underwriting of institutional counterparties including hedge funds and asset managers.
• Recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based limits with substantiated analyses.
• Monitor portfolio exposures and communicate concentration trends to leadership.
• Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks to inform limit-setting and capital planning.
• Negotiate industry documentation and collaborate with multiple teams to resolve client challenges.
