The Credit Research Analyst is the person who turns that work into evidence. You will build and own the data that drives credit policy decisions, the pipelines that feed them, the reporting that monitors them, and the analysis that tests whether a policy is doing what we thought it would.This is a small team working on ambiguous problems, so the role is hands-on and the ownership is real. You will be handed a question, a database, and the expectation that you come back with an answer you can defend.## **What You’ll Own*** **Definite, our analytics platform.** You will own it, including the performance and investor tape refreshes that our company depends on.* **Credit and portfolio reporting.** Build and maintain the recurring reporting the team, our lenders, and our investors rely on, and be accountable for it being right.* **Data pipelines.** Design, automate, and monitor the Python workflows that move and transform credit and loan performance data.* **Credit research and ad hoc analysis.** Answer questions from Credit, Finance, Underwriting, Capital Markets, and Product with analysis that is timely, well structured, and holds up to scrutiny.* **Data quality and documentation.** Maintain the definitions, standards, and documentation that keep our credit data trustworthy as the portfolio grows.## Qualifications## ### **Required*** Authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now and on an ongoing and indefinite basis.* Able to work a hybrid schedule in our Charlotte, NC office.* 1–5 years of hands-on analytical experience. We care more about what you have built and owned than about how many years it took.* Strong SQL, with experience querying and transforming real-world datasets that were not cleaned for you.* Hands-on Python across more than one context, such as data wrangling, automation, analysis, or API integration.* Experience building or contributing to data pipelines or automated workflows.* Strong written and verbal communication.
