Job summary

LISC, a leading community development organization in the United States, is seeking a Credit Officer to manage loan pipelines, coordinate credit reviews, and support timely loan approvals and closings. The role involves working with Lending, Finance and Legal teams to safeguard underwriting standards and data integrity.

Based in the Lending Department, the Credit Officer will prepare memos, oversee credit committee materials, and provide technical underwriting assistance to local programs across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum three (3) years of job related credit analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in a career in community development finance.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including ability to analyze financial statements, project development budgets, and project operating pro formas.
  • Familiarity with government subsidies and tax credit programs supporting affordable housing.
  • Strong written skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the LISC network of local and national programs and affiliates.
  • Good organizational abilities, including ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly Credit Committee materials and meetings, including distributing credit packages and taking meeting notes.
  • Coordinate and manage the review of loans and amendments approved by the Chief Credit Officer.
  • Support the review and approval of all loan requests from intake through closing, with cross‑functional teams.
  • Conduct outreach on maturing loans and coordinate amendment reviews.
  • Review final drafts of credit memos to ensure underwriting requirements are met.
