Qualifications

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN Pleasant Grove, CA.

SUMMARY

The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s credit and collection function, managing customer credit risk, protecting accounts receivable, and supporting cash flow objectives. This position establishes and enforces credit policies, evaluates customer credit and financial reliability, sets credit limits, monitors delinquent accounts, and leads credit and collection staff in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, and sound business practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops, maintains, and enforces credit and collection policies, procedures, internal controls, and approval guidelines.
  • Evaluates customer creditworthiness through review of credit applications, financial information, credit reports, trade references, payment history, and other relevant data.
  • Approves, denies, establishes, and periodically reviews customer credit limits and payment terms consistent with company policy and delegated authority.
  • Monitors accounts receivable aging, credit exposure, delinquent accounts, and collection activity to reduce risk, improve cash flow, and minimize bad debt.
  • Directs collection efforts on past-due accounts, including payment plans, account holds, legal escalation, collection agency placement, and other recovery actions where appropriate.
  • Oversee filing and monitoring of preliminary notices, mechanics liens, judgments, collateral documentation, and related legal or collection documents.
  • Reviews high-risk, delinquent, and potentially uncollectible accounts and recommends reserves, write-offs, settlements, or other corrective action.
  • Prepares and presents regular reports to management regarding receivables, aging trends, credit exposure, collection performance, bad debt risk, and other key metrics.
  • Partners with management, sales, rental, parts, service, finance, legal counsel, customers, credit reporting agencies, collection agencies, and other third parties to resolve credit and collection matters.
  • Investigates and manages fraud concerns, disputed balances, NSF checks, and other credit-related issues requiring escalation or legal action.
  • Supports audits and internal reviews by maintaining accurate documentation of credit decisions, collection activity, liens, judgments, reserves, and write-offs.
  • Identifies process improvements, reporting enhancements, system needs, and staff training opportunities to improve credit administration and collection effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises credit and collection employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, setting performance expectations, evaluating performance, coaching and developing employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in credit, collections, accounts receivable, finance, or related business operations is preferred. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit, collections, accounts receivable, lien rights, payment terms, customer risk evaluation, and credit documentation.
  • Ability to analyze financial information, credit reports, payment history, aging reports, and collection trends.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, negotiation skills, and ability to balance customer relationships with credit risk and company asset protection.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, employees, management, legal counsel, and outside agencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related business systems.

COMPENSATION

Wage Range $100,000 to $130,000 Annually

Wage depends on knowledge, skills and ability to perform the responsibilities of the job.
