Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of finance experience or a Master's with 1 year.
  • 5+ years of finance experience is also acceptable.

Position Overview

International Financial Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Credit Consultant to support customers in financing their acquisition of International trucks and buses. This role has credit approval authority and focuses on providing expert credit underwriting for owner operators and small to mid-size fleet customers.

About NFC

Navistar Financial Company (NFC) is the captive finance company for International Motors, LLC* and provides InternationalTM Financial services.

Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with dealers and customers by assessing credit requests.
  • Perform in-depth credit underwriting for new and existing customers.
  • Prepare accurate and professional credit write-ups.
  • Recommend credit decisions and exercise your authority within our dual-signature policy.
  • Communicate credit decisions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including risk ratings and credit reviews.
  • Minimize risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures.
  • Gather essential due diligence and KYC information.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure proper documentation of loans and leases with perfected liens.
  • Develop and deliver training to enhance the credit team's skills.
  • Educate dealers on credit and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate on policy updates and process improvements.
  • Assist in resolving post-funding documentation issues.
  • Support strategic credit, sales, and marketing initiatives.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of accounting or finance experience

OR

  • Master’s degree and at least 1 year of accounting or finance experience

OR

  • At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience
Additional Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (e.g., U.S. Citizen, Green Card, Refugee, Asylee). No sponsorship expected.
Desired Skills
  • 3+ years of credit underwriting experience, preferably in transportation
  • Knowledge of consumer credit bureaus, PayNet, LexisNexis, and DocuSign
  • Strong analytical, business writing skills, and proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerBi, T-Value
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of transportation industry and credit policies
  • Proficiency in finance and lease documentation, insurance, and lien perfection
  • Ability to prioritize multiple transactions
