The Position:

The main responsibility for this role is collecting overdue payments and implementing strategies to ensure payments are received promptly. This position also plays a crucial role in managing our credit granting process, ensuring that credit is extended responsibly and in line with our business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Customer Accounts

1. Conducts periodic credit reviews for existing customers and assesses the creditworthiness of potential customers.

2. Maintains open communication with customers to address concerns and ensure timely payments.

3. Determines appropriate credit limits and payment terms for customers based on their creditworthiness and payment history.

4. Proactively contacts customers via phone and email to recover overdue balances.

5. Maintains positive customer relationships while enforcing payment terms.

Collections

6. Investigates billing errors and disputes, following up with customers to resolve issues.

7. Collaborates with legal professionals if legal action is required to recover outstanding debts.

8. Negotiates partial payments and payment plans with customers.

Administrative

9. Develops and implements credit policies and procedures to ensure customer creditworthiness and minimize financial risk.

10. Generates and analyzes financial data and credit reports to make informed decisions.

11. Maintains detailed records and notes of all communications and actions taken.

12. Manages administrative tasks, including signing lien waivers, completing vendor packets, and adjustment forms

Additional Responsibilities

13. Ensures compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

14. All other duties as assigned.

• High School or general education degree (GED) required.
• Associate’s degree from a two-year college or trade school in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year College or University preferred.
• Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience providing quality customer service.
• Demonstrated knowledge of debt collection legal requirements.
• More than one year of experience with Account Management.
• Time management.
• Organization.
• Problem solving.
• Detail orientation.
