Job summary

Farmers Furniture in Georgia seeks an experienced Credit/AR Manager to coordinate, oversee, and manage accounts receivable and collection duties. You will approve or decline credit, conduct investigations, and ensure proper procedures to minimize losses while growing receivables.

The role involves contacting delinquent customers, documenting communications, and coordinating with management to enforce collection policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years experience in accounting/bookkeeping, loan processing, and/or collections.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and leads assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, and providing general guidance as to attain efficient office and credit operations.
• Manages and oversees the activities and operations of the accounts receivable and collection areas.
• Reviews and evaluates applications; investigates and verifies financial status and reputation of prospective customers applying for credit; prepares documents to substantiate findings; recommends rejection or approval of credit applications; establishes credit limitations on customer’s account.
• Contacts customers by telephone/text to determine reason for overdue payment and to gain payment; mails late notices; travels to customers’ homes to collect payments as needed; assists with repossessions as necessary; ensures payments are posted to accounts.
• Ensures all correspondence with customers concerning accounts is properly documented.
• Reviews delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection; organizes workload; delegates to staff as appropriate.
• Prepares paperwork prior to legal action for severely delinquent accounts; submits to attorney or outside agency with approval of Store Manager.
