Job Description Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to perform duties related to processing and verification of applications for granting credit terms, setting up new accounts, maintaining closed accounts, managing 3rd Party Collections, and handling Bankruptcies. The role also involves maintaining high-profile accounts receivable and ensuring they are paid and free of deductions.

Responsibilities:

• Research and assess credit risks, review credit history, and recommend credit limits or extensions
• Set up new accounts and maintain existing accounts
• Reconcile account balances, identify errors, and resolve issues causing unpaid bills, short pays, or deductions
• Run credit reports and suggest credit extensions to supervisors
• Manage processes related to closed accounts
• Identify and monitor credit risks
• Assist in managing unclaimed property
• Handle delinquency, removals, NSF issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

• Associates Degree in Accounting or Business (preferred)
• At least 3 years of experience in Credit and Collections
• Knowledge of basic payment terms and credit laws
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and automated accounting systems
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP software is a plus

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

• Frequent use of hands for phone and computer work
• Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds, reaching, standing, walking, and climbing stairs
• Extended periods of sitting at a desk
