Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking an intern to analyze credit information and support lending decisions within a Commercial Banking portfolio. You will perform financial analysis, prepare summaries, and help expand client relationships under supervision.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with full-term availability required to participate. On-site in Madison, WI, with exposure to risk management and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit or lending within a corporate banking environment is preferred.
• Credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards knowledge.
• Specialized knowledge in banking operations and credit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis and recommendations to Manager.
• Support portfolio monitoring, analyses metrics, and spot risks to inform decisions.
• Prepare detailed credit summaries to assess creditworthiness and support decisions.
• Provide content and support for proposals and presentations to capture new business.
• Build and maintain client relationships with Relationship Manager and partners.
• Structure and support loans aligned with client needs and policies.
• Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments of clients’ credit information for an assigned portfolio.
• Monitor portfolio performance and take corrective action as needed.
• Minimize risk by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and guidelines.
• Serve as a point of contact for service requests and escalate issues as needed.
• Identify revenue and cross-selling opportunities to grow the portfolio.
