Job description

A well-established community financial institution is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to join its Credit Administration team in Lebanon, Tennessee. This position will provide credit analysis and underwriting support for commercial and consumer lending activities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct credit analysis for new and existing commercial and consumer banking relationships.

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret borrower financial information to determine creditworthiness and lending risk.

  • Analyze balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, tax returns, financial ratios, and supporting financial documentation.

  • Prepare financial analyses in accordance with established underwriting standards and loan policies.

  • Evaluate borrower financial performance and communicate findings and potential risks to Loan Officers and Credit Administration.

  • Prepare credit memorandums, annual reviews, renewals, and credit packages.

  • Assist Loan Officers with complete and accurate credit presentations for approval.

  • Make recommendations regarding loan structure, terms, pricing, collateral, and overall credit risk.

  • Identify financial trends, strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas of risk.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with Loan Officers, Credit Administration, and other internal partners.

  • Complete credit analysis and underwriting assignments accurately and within established deadlines.

  • Assist senior credit leadership with special projects, reporting, and portfolio analysis.

  • Maintain knowledge of lending regulations, policies, procedures, Fair Lending requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of customer and financial information.


Qualifications & Skills


  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.

  • Solid understanding of commercial credit analysis and underwriting.

  • Knowledge of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow analysis, tax returns, and financial ratios.

  • Ability to identify and evaluate risks associated with commercial credit relationships.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a Credit Administration team.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word and ability to learn banking and credit software.


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.

  • Two or more years of commercial credit analysis or related banking experience preferred.

  • Candidates with a strong finance, accounting, economics, or business education and demonstrated financial analysis skills may also be considered.

  • Commercial lending, underwriting, portfolio analysis, or Credit Administration experience is a plus.


Travel

Occasional travel may be required for training, professional development, meetings, or other business-related activities.
