Expected pay for this position is $23.35 - $27.48/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
This job is located in Rockford, IL
M-F Business Hours
Hours can start anywhere from 7am to 8:30 am.
After being fully trained, it's one week in office and one week remote.
We are looking for a candidate that has the following:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the credentialing and re-credentialing process for OSF HealthCare hospitals and the Direct Access Network. This position facilitates all aspects of credentialing, including appointment, reappointment, changes in privileges, changes in categories, and resignations. The Credentialing Specialist collaborates with Medical Staff Offices, OSF leadership, and recruitment to meet requested start dates. Ensures compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies such as The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) with regard to credentialing and maintaining working knowledge of the statutes and laws.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School/GED
Experience: One year experience in healthcare or related experience
Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associates with 1 year experience of clerical in a healthcare setting
Experience: Prior credentialing such as Medical Staff Office, CVO, physician practice, or insurance/provider enrollment environment
License/Certification: NAMSS certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM)
Other skills/knowledge: Working knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, or NCQA standards and working knowledge of credentialing software.
