Job description

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an exceptional, qualified, and passionate relief Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our growing Patient Care team.

You will work alongside other skilled veterinary professionals to provide remarkable care for our patients and their families.

Shift Details: Relief

Pay CVT I: $22.00 - $32.00/hour

Pay: Dependent on local veterinary licensing, experience, and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

We are looking for an experienced technician with a strong work ethic who is dedicated to their profession and passionate about providing the highest quality of care for our patients. You will have the opportunity to advance and fully utilize your technical skills. Our hospital also provides an encouraging environment that supports your continued professional growth in Emergency and Specialty Medicine.

As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
2. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
3. Assist the doctor with creating patient treatment plans and thoroughly explaining them to owners.
4. Perform digital radiography using proper technique, including correct patient positioning.
5. Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
6. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
7. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
8. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
9. Mentor and train other team members.
10. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
