Role Overview

This role involves applying a patient-centered approach to treatments, assessments, and all aspects of patient care. It offers opportunities for advancement towards VTS certification and leadership roles, with autonomous functioning using critical thinking and leadership skills.

Candidate Profile

We seek a credentialed veterinary technician who is passionate, motivated, honest, respectful, adaptable, and eager to learn. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and team spirit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Treat patients and customers with compassion and care.
  2. Perform nursing care tasks, patient monitoring, and treatments.
  3. Triaging patients based on disease understanding and assessment.
  4. Administer medications and manage fluid therapy.
  5. Contribute to outpatient and inpatient care, participate in patient rounds.
  6. Perform CPR as a RECOVER Certified Rescuer.
  7. Collect samples, perform diagnostic tests, and imaging.
  8. Perform nursing tasks such as catheter placement and oxygen therapy.

Veterinary technicians additionally perform:

  1. Manage anesthesia and advanced vascular access techniques.
  2. Conduct advanced diagnostics like ultrasonography and paracentesis.
  3. Develop treatment and anesthesia plans.
  4. Mentor and collaborate with team members.
  5. Seek additional training and certifications.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT).
  • 1+ years of veterinary technician experience, emergency or specialty preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, lift up to 25 kg, and support up to 40 kg with assistance.
