Job summary

Foothills Animal Hospital invites a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our busy practice. You will assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries, dentistry, anesthesia, radiographs, and in-house labs, while educating clients and ensuring patient safety.

We offer two experienced technicians with 25+ years each, a supportive team, and ongoing professional development in a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of desired employment.
• Experience with Ezyvet software preferred.
• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred; proficiency in anesthesia monitoring preferred.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
• Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with appointments, procedures, surgery, and dentistry
• Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and weights
• Educate clients about their pets' care and treatment plans
• Prepare, anesthetize, and monitor surgical patients
• Perform laboratory testing and collect diagnostic samples
• Take diagnostic radiographs
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
• Provide excellent patient nursing and monitoring
• Assist with acupuncture and laser therapy
• Safely handle and restrain patients
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and exam areas
• Communicate effectively with veterinarians and team members
• Help create a positive experience for every patient and client
