Job summary

Heart + Paw is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative, pet-focused team in a modern facility equipped with the latest technology. You will assist veterinarians with routine appointments and surgeries, manage patient histories, and help with anesthesia and dental care.

The ideal candidate holds state licensure for veterinary technicians, has 1–2 years of clinical experience, and embraces low-stress handling and strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Licensure as Veterinary Technician in this state.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and client-relations mindset.
• Ability to lift 20+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to obtain Fear Free and HABRI certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
• Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries.
• Record detailed patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
• Take and interpret radiographs, including dental X-rays, and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
• Monitor general anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with catheterization and ear flushes.
• Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, nutrition, and more.
• Collaborate with the team to create a positive work environment and assist with onboarding new employees.
