Job summary

Compassion International is seeking a Creative Specialist (Writer) to join a collaborative team focused on meaningful supporter experiences. You will own recurring communications, craft content for fundraising campaigns, child sponsorship communications, digital content, and serve as Managing Editor for Compassion Explorer, our award-winning children’s magazine.

Qualifications

• Approximately 7 years of professional writing, copywriting, content marketing, editorial, or communications experience.
• Proven ability to write across multiple content types and communication channels.
• Strong storytelling, editing, and content development skills with a commitment to quality and brand consistency.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with writers, designers, marketers, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of international development, child sponsorship, or global ministry environments preferred.
• Experience with Workfront, Adobe InCopy, or similar content management tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
• Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Protects children and prioritizes child protection across the ministry, and follows Compassion's Code of Conduct.
• Develops and proposes creative solutions in response to communication strategies and goals expressed by clients.
• Possesses a complex technical knowledge related to copywriting, marketing, and fundraising across email, web, and print content.
• Works on a team of writers and designers to execute assigned work in partnership with marketing strategists.
