Job summary

Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute seeks an Activity Therapist to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services for patients with emotional or substance use concerns. You'll help develop treatment plans and lead individual, family, and group sessions across art, music, dance, drama, yoga, and adventure therapies.

You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to monitor progress, document outcomes, and support safety and ethics standards in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in recreation, music, art therapy or occupational therapy preferred.
• At least 1 year experience in therapy-related field or relevant education.
• CPR certification and MBP training completion prior to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Participates in formulation of treatment plans with goals and objectives.
• Monitors progress and documents progress in group notes and sessions.
• Consults with doctors, case managers, and nursing staff for patient care.
• Conducts individual therapy and group therapies as assigned.
• Represents hospital in required legal proceedings and reports to agencies.
