Job summary

You will plan and conduct activities for individuals and groups, assist with monthly calendars, coordinate transportation, maintain records, and help staff communicate with families while keeping the Activity Department organized and secure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferably one year of experience in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Math skills to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in arranging transportation for residents when necessary.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist in discharge planning and development of activity care plans and assessments.
• Keep Activity Department clean, orderly and secured.
