ABOUT THE ROLE
Elm is a fast-growing, DTC-native skincare brand with an ambitious creative calendar spanning brand campaigns, product launches, e-commerce, paid social, and organic content. We're looking for a highly organized, resourceful, and detail-oriented Creative Producer to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of our photo and video productions. This is a hands‑on production role for someone who thrives on bringing creative ideas to life. You'll own the production process from pre‑production through post‑production, managing budgets, timelines, external partners, and deliverables to ensure every shoot runs smoothly and meets Elm's creative standards.
With a regular cadence of shoots ranging from smaller, nimble content productions to larger‑scale campaigns, you'll be responsible for building efficient workflows, maintaining strong relationships with creative partners, and finding smart ways to bring ambitious ideas to life across varying budgets. Beyond production, you'll also support project management across the creative team, helping keep initiatives organized, on schedule, and moving forward.
The role is based in NYC with three days a week in office, plus on‑set days as needed, and reports to the Senior Art Director.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Creative Production & Shoot Management
- Own end-to-end production of Elm's photo and video shoots, from initial brief and pre‑production planning through on‑set execution, post‑production, and final asset delivery.
- Manage a consistent production calendar, coordinating at least one shoot per month across brand campaigns, product launches, e‑commerce, and social content.
- Partner closely with the Senior Art Director and creative team to translate creative concepts into actionable production plans that align with budgets, timelines, and creative objectives.
- Develop and manage production budgets, schedules, shot lists, call sheets, production timelines, and other essential production documents.
- Source, hire, negotiate with, and manage external creative partners, including photographers, videographers, directors, producers, stylists, hair and makeup artists, talent, studios, and other vendors.
- Oversee production logistics, including locations, equipment rentals, props, product samples, transportation, catering, permits, insurance, and talent releases.
- Lead on‑set production logistics, ensuring shoots run efficiently, stay on schedule and within budget, and support the creative team's vision.
- Coordinate productions involving founders, celebrity talent, and other high‑profile partners with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Build and maintain a trusted network of freelance talent, production partners, and vendors to support productions of varying sizes and budgets.
- Own post‑production timelines and workflows, coordinating with editors, retouchers, colorists, and other external partners to ensure projects move efficiently from shoot to final delivery.
- Manage asset selection, retouching and editing rounds, feedback consolidation, approvals, and final deliverables in collaboration with the creative team.
- Track project milestones and proactively communicate timelines, updates, and potential delays to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Ensure final assets are delivered on time, properly organized, and in the required formats for brand, e‑commerce, paid media, organic social, and CRM.
- Maintain organized production files, asset libraries, usage rights, contracts, and final deliverables.
C. Creative Project Management
- Support the Senior Art Director in managing timelines, deliverables, and workflows across creative projects beyond photo and video production.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including brand, growth, social, and e‑commerce, to align on project needs, priorities, and deadlines.
- Help manage creative calendars, project trackers, and production schedules to ensure visibility across ongoing initiatives.
- Facilitate communication between internal stakeholders and external creative partners, keeping projects organized and moving forward.
- Proactively identify potential roadblocks, manage shifting priorities, and help develop solutions to keep projects on track.
D. Production Operations & Budget Management
- Develop and refine production processes, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency as Elm's creative needs grow.
- Manage production budgets, track expenses, negotiate vendor rates, and identify cost‑effective solutions without compromising creative quality.
- Maintain organized records of contracts, invoices, estimates, usage agreements, and production expenses.
- Build scalable production systems that support both nimble, lower‑budget shoots and larger, more complex campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, maximize existing resources, and make the most of each production.
