Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Orlando is seeking a part-time Party & Event Host to plan and coordinate events in-store, including kids' birthday parties and craft classes. You will deliver friendly customer service, help guests shop, and run activities to create a fun, creative experience.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, engaging guests aged 4 to 94+, teaching craft projects, managing add-ons, and handling checkouts and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational and interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs; create backup or emergency plans as needed.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards; set up, break down and clean after each event.
• Interact with guests and promote the Michaels brand experience.
