Job summary

East Side Union High School District seeks a skilled composer/arranger to create music for its high schools marching band and winter percussion programs. You will collaborate with the credentialed teacher across one or more sites, guiding students of varying skill levels through design, rehearsal prep, instruction, and performance support.

The role involves working with a district team, coordinating with directors, and contributing to high-quality productions while upholding fingerprint

Qualifications

• Experience with music composition, transcription and/or arranging for Marching Band and/or Winter Percussion
• Experience teaching high school-aged students
• Experience teaching small and large group instruction

Responsibilities

• Designer of the music for the season specific production
• Attend and assist director at rehearsals as scheduled with the director
• Attend performances as scheduled with the director
• Stay advised as to the director's goals and agendas as to the timelines/deadlines for materials to be produced and/or learned by the students
• Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment
