American Bath Group brings together a portfolio of bath and shower brands serving a wide range of customers and channels, including retail, wholesale and trade partners, showrooms, designers, architects, and end consumers.
The portfolio spans practical, high-volume products as well as premium, design-led offerings. That range creates a distinct creative challenge: every brand needs a clear and compelling expression, but the right answer is not the same for every customer, product, or channel.
American Bath Group is evolving how creative work supports its brands. Historically, much of the work has centered on producing the materials needed to support products, launches, sales teams, and channel partners. Those needs remain important. The opportunity now is to build a more connected creative approach that goes beyond individual assets and shapes how customers experience each brand across digital and physical touchpoints.
The Creative Director will set that direction. The initial priority will be developing the creative expression for a new premium collection and establishing the level of photography, styling, art direction, layout, messaging, and overall brand experience required to compete in a design-led environment.
From there, the role will help strengthen creative direction across a broader portfolio of brands without forcing one aesthetic across businesses that serve fundamentally different customers.
Success will mean American Bath Group has moved from primarily producing creative materials to operating with a clearer, more intentional creative system.
The premium portfolio should have a coherent and recognizable brand experience. Established brands should have stronger clarity around how they show up for their respective audiences and channels. Creative work should be guided by clearer standards and processes, and the organization should begin connecting creative decisions more deliberately to customer engagement and commercial performance.
Just as importantly, the Creative Director should leave behind a stronger internal capability, not a function that depends on one individual to personally touch every piece of work.
Build and lead a portfolio-wide creative system that establishes a credible premium brand experience, raises brand clarity and creative standards by audience and channel, develops the internal team, and connects creative output to measurable digital and commercial impact.
This requires both creative authorship and operating leadership. The Creative Director will set creative vision, art direction, photography standards, campaign look and feel, and the overall quality bar. They will also build the processes, review mechanisms, team capability, and working relationships required to translate that vision into repeatable execution across multiple brands and touchpoints.
The creative challenge is unusually broad. This person may need to create an elevated, editorial-quality experience for a premium design audience and then apply completely different judgment to work intended for retail, trade, installation, or other practical customer environments.
Success is not about making every brand look more luxurious. It is about understanding what each brand needs to communicate, who it needs to reach, and how creative choices should change accordingly.
The role also requires someone who can move beyond concept and taste. The Creative Director will need to create systems, develop people, establish standards, work across functions, and influence leaders who may have strong existing perspectives about their brands.
The person who succeeds will know when to protect a creative idea, when to adapt it, and how to turn creative direction into work that the business can actually use.
Experience in fashion, beauty, editorial publishing, travel, home, interiors, hospitality, premium retail, or other design-led environments can translate well to this opportunity. Experience in bath, kitchen, fixtures, building products, or related categories can accelerate the learning curve but is not required.
Experience within an in-house brand environment is valuable, but strong agency backgrounds will also be considered when they demonstrate the leadership, operating ownership, and cross-functional depth required for the role.
This is an opportunity to build, not simply inherit. The Creative Director will have the chance to shape a new premium brand experience from its early stages while also influencing how an established portfolio evolves creatively over time.
The scope extends beyond advertising or campaign work. It includes digital experiences, photography, physical environments, product storytelling, retail and showroom execution, sales materials, and the systems that connect those touchpoints.
For a creative leader who wants both meaningful authorship and the opportunity to build a durable creative organization, the role offers considerable room to make an imprint.
Creative expression is increasingly part of how customers understand the value of a product and a brand. For premium products, the experience must communicate design, quality, materiality, and intent well before a customer makes a purchase. For more practical products and channels, the creative must communicate clearly, quickly, and usefully.
American Bath Group needs a Creative Director who understands both realities.
The long-term opportunity is to create a creative capability that helps each brand tell the right story for the customer it serves, raises the quality of how the portfolio shows up in market, and turns creative direction into a repeatable business capability.
