Aramark Correctional Services is seeking an energetic Cook to prepare a variety of meals in a correctional facility setting. You will follow standardized recipes, maintain proper food safety, and operate kitchen equipment to deliver high-quality meals to residents and staff.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in food handling, and teamwork within a dynamic institutional kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Knowledge of basic cooking principles and food safety regulations.
• Able to obtain food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to recipes and guidelines.
• Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely use utensils and operate equipment (ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers).
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and use various cooking methods on foods.
• Plate, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines.
• Store food safely and maintain clean, sanitary work areas.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor.
