Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required
• Knowledge of basic food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as sanitation and storage
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
• Good interpersonal communication, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of foods according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling foods
• Safely uses utensils including knives
• Operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, and other equipment
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses diverse cooking methods for meats, vegetables, and other foods
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food per guidelines
• Stores food properly following safety policies
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and staff
• Adheres to safety policies and ensures asset security
