Job summary

The Whatcom County Library System is seeking a Communications Assistant to join the communications and design team. The role focuses on creating, producing and distributing marketing materials across print, digital, social, and web channels for the library system.

You will support project requests from branch and administrative staff, maintain archives, and help implement editorial and design standards while working closely with the Community Relations Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Experience with design/communication teams and delivering on deadlines.
• Strong command of English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Knowledge of graphic design principles and editorial standards.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; familiar with social media.

Responsibilities

• Create, produce and distribute marketing and communications materials for print, digital, social, web and video.
• Maintain communications archives and manage project requests with staff and manager.
• Adhere to library identity, style guides and branding standards.
• Operate networked systems and participate in cross-team collaboration.
