Job summary

Giant Eagle Bakery is seeking a Cake Decorator to join the Bakery team. You will create beautiful cake art and ensure the freshest pastries are available, while delivering exceptional guest service.

As a Team Member, you will work with others, learn trends, and contribute to a warm, welcoming store environment; you will handle decorating tasks, maintain safety and sanitation, and help guests celebrate with customized cakes.

Qualifications

• 6 to 12 months experience or successful Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program.
• Experience in cake decorating and pastry preparation preferred.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Fill tables and cases with cakes by taking product from prep area to sales area.
• Follow proper procedures to ensure store meets out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and WOW the guest.
• Take special orders from guests over the telephone and in person.
• Maintain quality of product by checking dates and condition in the sales area.
• Document and/or record daily known loss.
• Maintain safety as the top priority for Team Members, guests, and products.
• Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and helping them find products.
