Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Cake Decorator to deliver quality cakes and pastries daily. You will follow VTAs, decorate, write on cakes on request, and maintain product freshness while upholding food safety standards. You will take cake orders, provide excellent customer service, and ensure timely display of items in the bakery.

The position requires a minimum of 1 year experience, 18+ age, and a HS diploma or GED, with training on orientation, safety, and online ordering upon hire.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service
• Take cake orders by telephone or in person with high accuracy
• Answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections
• Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and increase sales
• Apply decorating techniques to produce quality cakes and pastries
• Write on cakes with icing on request
• Read and follow daily production lists
• Ensure quality control of all products
• Ensure cake products reach the showcase on time
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products
• Slice, package, label, and rotate products
• Record production and shrink for planning
• Maintain sanitation and comply with safety standards
• Operate and maintain equipment properly
