Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of pastry and/or cake decorating experience.
• Experience working with fondant is required.
• Must work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of cake stacking, customization, and carving is a plus.
• Know-how of basic bakery equipment: mixers, blenders, processors, smallware.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• California Food Handler Card is required for all food service staff.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Create pastries and design new cake creations.
• Prepare cakes, icings, fillings for decorating.
• Decorate all cakes within deadlines for customer orders.
• Decorate cookies, cakes, cupcakes for display and counter sales.
• Inspect finished products to meet quality standards.
• Set up, ice, and decorate cakes of all sizes and shapes.
• Demonstrate icing borders, flowers, writing techniques; buttercream, fondant, chocolate.
• Design custom cakes and consult with customers through the ordering process.
• Enhance bakery reputation by owning responsibilities and adding value.
• Maintain positive relations and effective communication within the team.
• Demonstrate interpersonal and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist the Bakery Manager as needed.
