Job summary

Makers Union Pub in Virginia is seeking a skilled Bartender to craft cocktails and deliver memorable guest experiences in a lively pub setting. You will create classic drinks, experiment with new flavors, and be at the forefront of our beverage program.

Training will occur in Reston until South Riding opens, with a focus on a welcoming bar atmosphere, cash handling, and collaboration with kitchen staff. A flexible schedule and continued beverage trend knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and some holidays.
• Certified in (or able to be certified in) responsible alcohol service.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language of the work location.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with creativity and precision.
• Interact with guests, provide recommendations, and create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere.
• Maintain an organized and well-stocked bar area, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards.
• Process drink orders accurately and efficiently, handling cash transactions and maintaining proper records.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of food and beverage orders.
• Stay updated on current beverage trends, techniques, and ingredients to continually enhance the menu offerings.
