Job summary

YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Specialty Program Instructor to teach the specialty class under the guidance of the Program Director. You will plan, organize, and document each lesson while ensuring a safe, engaging environment for enrolled children.

You will monitor activities, support growth and development, uphold safety policies, and maintain attendance records. Prior experience with specialty programs and working with children is required.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with specialty program offering.
• Prior experience working with children.
• Enthusiasm for the arts and children.
• Ability to adhere to drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.
• Employment is contingent upon background screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and documents each lesson.
• Organizes, plans, and executes activities for enrolled children.
• Monitors safety and makes changes as necessary.
• Provides a positive environment and encourages participation.
• Discipline within YMCA guidelines as needed.
• Reports incidents and maintains records.
• Keeps classroom neat and safe.
• Attends staff meetings.
