Job summary

Yellowstone River Nursing and Rehabilitation in Billings, MT is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director by planning and conducting engaging programs. You will help communicate with residents, families, staff and agencies to ensure activities meet needs and interests.

You will assist in monthly calendars, attendance, and resident assessments, and help arrange transportation when needed. A high school diploma is required and prior long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
• Mathematical skills: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Reasoning ability: solve practical problems.
• Physical demands include standing/walking frequently and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activities for residents of all group sizes.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families, and agencies.
• Develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Assist with assessment documentation and progress notes as assigned.
• Help arrange transportation for residents as needed.
• Keep the Activity Department orderly and secure.
