Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hanover, PA, is seeking a creative Activities Assistant to support the Director of Activities by planning, leading, and carrying out engaging programs for residents. The role is part-time (10 hours/week) with every other weekend and holiday required; pay depends on experience.

Responsibilities include promoting socialization and well-being, guiding group and one-on-one activities, and assisting residents with daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with elderly or disabled populations preferred.
• Ability to think outside the box and create engaging activities.
• Comfortable interacting with residents and building positive relationships.
• Motivated, dependable, and able to independently lead activities.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and assist with resident activities that promote socialization, creativity, exercise, and overall well-being.
• Motivate and encourage resident participation and confidently lead group and one-on-one activities.
• Interact positively with residents and build meaningful relationships.
• Assist residents with daily personal activities such as writing letters, making phone calls, and participating in programs.
• Escort residents to scheduled activities and events.
• Assist with activity attendance tracking and progress documentation.
• Support engagement efforts, including mail delivery, plant care, fundraising, PA announcements.
• Provide and supervise craft supplies and equipment.
• Encourage residents to express creativity and independence.
• Think outside the box and develop creative ways to engage residents.
