Job summary

Answers in Genesis at the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY is seeking a full-time housekeeping team member to keep facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for guests and staff.

You will join a SERVE-minded culture, perform janitorial duties, operate cleaning equipment, and support AiG's mission with integrity and reliability. Weekend and holiday availability is expected.

Applicants should be able to lift 30 lbs, pass a background check, and align with AiG's Statement of Faith.

Qualifications

• Attends a local Bible-believing church.
• Physical ability to stand and walk all day, bend, and lift 30 lbs or more.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Receives direction and responsibilities from Housekeeping Management. Participate in a wide range of housekeeping duties to ensure that every area our staff and guests are exposed to is clean, healthy, and attractive with specific attention to the cleanliness of the whole Creation Museum facility. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
• Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
• Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
• Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
• Performs housekeeping and janitorial duties to help maintain high standard of cleanness. Duties include trash pick-up, dusting furniture, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, cleaning hallways, detail restroom cleaning, window cleaning, etc.
• Cleaning the bathroom sinks, toilets, floors, mirrors and restock bathroom closets as necessary
• Cleaning all areas open to the public in museum spaces
• Process trash removal and scraps with a compacter
• Keeps track of janitorial supplies that are use
• Routinely inspects and maintains main building, outlying restrooms and pavilions
• Maintains, secure, clean, organized work areas and storage rooms
• Uses appropriate machinery to clean floors, bathrooms, carpet
• And all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

QualificationsRequirements

• Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
• Physical exertion requires standing and walking all day, repeated bending and lifting, ability to lift 30 lbs. or more.
• Operate a floor scrubber and other cleaning equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Must be dependable and adapt to changing work priorities and flexible work hours including weekends and holidays.
• The candidate must have reliable transportation and a current driver’s license

Education & Experience

• Previous experience performing light maintenance and janitorial services preferred.
• Experience with floor machines preferred
• Participate in all relevant training and staff meetings
