Job summary

Citizens is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager in Boston (with some in-office work) to underwrite, monitor, and manage credit quality across a CRE loan portfolio. The role involves structuring and documenting new loans, renewals, and modifications, with direct client interactions and collaboration with relationship managers to resolve portfolio issues.

The position requires 3+ years in commercial lending, strong credit and risk analysis skills, and a high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial lending /portfolio management including financial analysis and credit structuring, understanding, and applying credit policy, and credit monitoring and risk administration practices.
• High level of credit and documentation experience.
• Must be skilled in proposing, negotiating and recommending credit and covenant structures for approval.
• Must demonstrate practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis.
• Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation, and problem-solving skills
• Poses high attention to detail ensuring accuracy and completion

Responsibilities

• Proactive credit and risk administration of assigned portfolio accounts in the CRE portfolio.
• Structuring, underwriting, and documenting new business, renewals, and modifications as the credit expert within the first line of defense.
• Provides client management support for assigned portfolio, including direct client interaction on standard credit and risk follow-up issues.
• Actively engages with relationship managers on progress, issues, and challenges regarding a particular customer relationship or portfolio concern.
• Handles multiple demands and competing priorities while meeting deadlines and schedules associated with maintaining portfolio and compliance with credit and risk policies.
