Job summary

Lorimer Capital is seeking an Associate to join our quickly expanding CRE lending platform in New York. You will support loan origination by sourcing opportunities, screening requests, and preparing initial underwriting and loan sizing.

You will interact with brokers and borrowers from day one and collaborate with underwriting, closing, capital markets, and asset management teams. This hands-on role emphasizes relationship management and disciplined pipeline tracking.

Qualifications

• . 3-5 years of experience in CRE lending, origination, underwriting, or related role at a debt fund, mortgage banking firm, bank, or life company.
• . Working knowledge of CRE loan structures, key credit metrics (DSCR, LTV, debt yield), and major property types.
• . Strong relationship management, project management, and presentation skills, including proficiency with CRMs, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• . Financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
• . Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; finance, real estate, economics, or related field preferred.
• . Clear, concise written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting analysis to senior management and brokers/borrowers.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing: Drive business development by leveraging broker relationships and expanding the Lorimer network; research target sponsors, track market activity, and execute a structured calling plan.
• Pipeline Management: Contribute new opportunities to the firm's deal pipeline, keep pipeline tracking current, and help prepare regular pipeline and market updates for senior management.
• Screening: Screen incoming loan requests and prepare initial analysis from loan submission packages and market data, including cash flow analysis, loan sizing, and comparable research, for review by the credit committee.
• Relationship Management: Communicate deal feedback to debt brokers and clients and maintain regular contact with existing relationships.
• Investment Materials: Draft indicative term sheets and support the credit committee in structuring and negotiating terms with borrowers and brokers; work with underwriters to prepare credit memos for internal and credit committee review.
