Job summary

U.S. Bank’s Commercial Real Estate internship offers hands-on experience in analyzing financial statements, credit requests, and presenting recommendations to assess risk.

The 10-week program includes on-the-job training, mentorship, and a pathway to a full-time development program after graduation. Based in Denver, CO, interns gain exposure to portfolio management, client interactions, and the use of AI-enabled tools like Copilot to enhance productivity and insights.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with target graduation date Dec 2027 or May 2028.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and present a new loan opportunity as part of the intern Capstone project.
• Assist in completing quarterly trending reports (QTR) and annual reviews of existing clients.
• Support senior credit analysts in underwriting new opportunities, financial spreading, risk rating loans, and calculating metrics.
• Measuring, monitoring and testing a wide variety of financial covenants as specified within credit approval documents.
• Input monitoring requirements and covenants into a standard compliance monitoring system.
• Analyze financial statement results and prepare reports to communicate performance and trends to Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Administration.
• Interact with clients as appropriate; attend meetings with companies in the portfolio.
• Explore the use of AI-enabled tools to assist with financial analysis, market research, and development of credit presentations and reports.
