Job summary

U.S. Bank is offering a 10-week Commercial Real Estate (CRE) internship in Denver, CO. You will learn financial analysis, credit assessment, and presentation of recommendations, with mentorship and a path to a development program after graduation.

The internship combines on-the-job training, peer collaboration, and exposure to senior executives, with a hybrid work model and opportunities to utilize AI tools like Copilot for analytics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree with a target graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Basic understanding of Financial/Accounting terms, concepts, and applications.
• Ability to start internship program on June 7, 2027.
• Ability to work in office 3+ days/week.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, structure and present a new loan opportunity as part of the intern Capstone project.
• Assist in completing quarterly trending reports and annual reviews of existing clients.
• Support senior credit analysts in underwriting new business opportunities, financial spreading, risk rating loans, and calculating various financial metrics.
• Measuring, monitoring, and testing a wide variety of financial covenants as specified within credit approval documents.
• Reading and interpreting relevant credit approval requirements to input monitoring requirements and covenants into a standard monitoring system.
• Analyzing financial statement results and preparing reports for Portfolio Managers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Administration.
• Interacting with clients; attending meetings with companies in the portfolio.
• Explore the use of AI-enabled tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to assist with financial analysis and reports.
