Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to join the team at Washington University Medical Center. You will clean, inspect, disinfect and sterilize complex surgical instruments and power equipment in a demanding, 24/7 environment, ensuring case carts are prepared for operating rooms across multiple services.

You must have CRCST certification, 2–5 years of experience, and the ability to work with high-trust equipment and precise workflows in a Magnet-designated academic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-5 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
• CRCST certification required; CHL and CIS preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support supervisor and staff in cleaning, inspection, disinfection and sterilization of complex surgical instruments and power equipment.
• Assist with instrument tracking, case cart preparation and inventory management.
• Troubleshoot equipment and ensure readiness for next day surgical procedures.
• Provide sterilization support for research instruments and IRB protocols.
