Job summary

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Education Specialist to lead onboarding, training, and ongoing education for CSPD staff. You will develop competency programs, update materials to reflect AAMI standards, and partner with Periop leadership to ensure safety, quality, and compliant CSPD operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on training of new hires, documentation of competencies, and mentorship for staff development, with a focus on patient safety and instrument

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• CRCST certification is required or preferred.
• Experience in sterile processing education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding, orientation, and training for Sterile Processing staff.
• Develop competency validations, annual assessments, and skills evaluations.
• Provide ongoing education on sterilization, instrumentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Surgical Services to improve instrument care and compliance.
• Conduct audits and implement corrective education plans.
