Job summary
Hyundai Motor America is seeking a Safety and Crashworthiness Performance Engineer to evaluate and advance the safety performance of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis vehicles. This role plans, executes, and analyzes safety tests to support certification and occupant protection.
You will work on full-vehicle, system, and component level evaluations, develop test plans, analyze data, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet safety targets and future product strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Biomedical engineering or related field.
- 3 years’ experience in automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive structure, crashworthiness, and safety.
- Expertise in testing, test equipment and processes to meet vehicle requirements.
- Experience in crash test data analysis and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and analyze safety and crashworthiness tests.
- Support official and development tests with data analysis and design input.
- Develop test plans, set-ups, attend and conduct tests.
- Perform post-test data analysis, teardowns, inspection and reporting.
- Collaborate with teams to meet safety targets and roadmaps.
- Create technical reports per guidelines and present findings.
