Job summary

CapCo Crane & Hoist in Rowley, MA is seeking a Crane Technician II to install, inspect, maintain, and repair overhead crane systems and hoists. You will support customers by interfacing with them and internal departments to resolve issues and ensure safe, reliable operation.

This role requires 2–5 years of crane troubleshooting, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to work at height in a physically demanding environment. Local travel and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment required.
  • Electrical knowledge of 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
  • Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
  • Associate’s degree in Industrial Electrician / Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work at height, in extreme temperatures and noisy locations; lifting 50–100lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
  • Perform OSHA-equivalent inspections; document and complete warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance; respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
  • Support customers by interfacing with customers and internal departments in repairing equipment.
  • Perform electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
  • Maintain rapport with customers by promptly reviewing and addressing complaints; suggest improvements.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklists.
  • Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
  • Develop working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Responsible for company equipment including vehicles, trailers, tools, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.

Education & Qualifications

  • Overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
  • Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
  • Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and customers of job status.
  • Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
  • Required to use own hand tools and meter.
  • Local travel to customers on a daily basis required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful motor vehicle record, background check, and drug screen.
